2.2 CRD Fuel Injectors

I have just lifted the top cover off my diesel PT Cruiser and have noticed that there are signs of one of the fuel injectors blowing.
I have seen that the retaining bolt and copper washer is readily available but is it possible to do this as a DIY job. Will the injector and old copper washer pull out easily without the need of any special tools. Any idea what the torque setting is for the injector retaining bolt?
I'd appreciate any advice from someone who has done this on their diesel PT.

You can buy the bolt washer and grease kit on eBay for a few quid but buy more than you need!

The job is very easy but must be done on a warm engine. The blow-by generates black residue which resembles rubber and bonds the injector into the deep injector hole. Having the engine warm softens the residue. Remove diesel supply and return lines and remove retaining clamp and bolt. Now wiggle and pull the injector. I also used a contact cleaner solvent to dissolve the gunk - be patient and it will come out.

You must then clean the bore and injector before reassembling.

Don't over torque the bolt and do all 4 while you're there.

Thanks for your reply and my apologies for not replying at the time.
I did manage to remove the injector OK in the end and i'm posting this detailed reply for the benefit of anyone else who is looking.
Having read all the horror stories about seized injectors online i was expecting problems with removing the injector. Anyway i warmed up the engine first as you advised then sprayed gunk and WD40 around the injector and left to penetrate down around the injector for a few minutes. After removing the fuel pipes and electrical connector i then used a fairly thin open jawed spanner which i managed to fit to the nut under the plastic connector on the top of the injector. I carefully used this to move the injector back and forward to free it from it's hole in the cylinder head. Once i got the injector moving it came out fairly easy.
I managed to remove the old copper washer from it's seat in the cyl head and the seat in the head was fortunately ok and didn't need re-seating.
One thing i noticed is that it's fairly easy to get liquid and dirt down inside the injector clamp bolt hole and if you are not careful this could cause the clamp bolt to bottom out in the hole rather than pulling the injector down firmly onto it's seat - MAKE SURE THAT YOU CLEAN OUT THIS HOLE THOROUGHLY BEFORE REFITTING THE INJECTOR!
I also cleaned old deposits off the injector body and the inside of the hole and refitted the injector using a new injector clamp bolt and injector copper sealing washer. I also used copper grease on the injector clamp bolt and around the injector body to hopefully prevent it from seizing in the future.
If you are not able to remove the injector as i have described there are specialists who can do this using special tools and hopefully without having to remove the cylinder head - see online!
