Steel Wheels Empty Steel Wheels

Post  Happy Friar Tue Aug 09, 2011 11:48 am

Hi I need to replace the alloys on my daughters Route 66 with steel wheels as the alloys no longer hold pressure. Does anyone know anywhere in England that might have a set I have tried all of the usual places. Failing that does anyone know how I might import a set from the USA.

Before you go and buy a new set of alloy's, I would take the tyres off the rims, you will find you will have corrosion on the inside of the rim, clean it off with some wire wool or some medium emery cloth, get the tyres put back on, and back it up by using a tyre sealant, like Slime, http://www.slime.com/

That should sort out the tyres loosing there pressure.
